Open Faced Turkey Sandwich

Recipe by Bev Crockett

This is such a quick meal if you are on the run.  Or when you need ‘comfort food’.  I tend to always have ‘jar gravy’ and bread on hand.  Lunch meat is a quick grab.  Then add a veggie and you are good to go.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb deli turkey – I prefer shaved for this
  • 1 T oil
  • 1 18 oz. Heinz Homestyle Chicken Gravy – you can sometimes find Turkey around the holidays
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Garlic, minced – to taste
  • Vidalia onion, sliced

Instructions

  1. Add oil to medium sized pan
  2. Add sliced onions & garlic
  3. Add shaved/chipped turkey
  4. Add salt & pepper
  5. Stir / mix all together to get warm
  6. Add gravy, bringing to a soft boil
  7. Serve over mashed potatoes or bread – also can serve over fries.  Add a ve

Notes

Serve over toast or bread, mashed potatoes – also can serve over fries.  Add a veggie and you have a quick meal.

Note – you can also do this with deli roast beef – substituting beef gravy for the turkey gravy.
