What’s next? -

Today, I closed a chapter that has defined much of my life.

After 35 years at Wells Fargo, I officially retired.

It’s strange how something so significant doesn’t happen in one grand moment. Instead, it comes through a series of “lasts.”

I sent a few goodbye e:mails
I wrapped up my final monthly tasks
I transferred my team to their new leader
I set my out-of-office message
I cancelled recurring meetings that had been on my calendar for years
I had my last one-on-one meetings with my direct reports….people who had become more than employees. They wre friends, trusted partners and an important part of my journey
I packed up awards and memories I had collected over three and a half decades.
I walked through the routines that had become second nature
I boxed up my equipment

And then, just like that, it was done. Thirty-five years.

When I look back, I’m filled with gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunities, the challenges, the lessons, the successes, and even the setbacks that helped shape who I am. Most of all, I’m grateful for the incredible people I’ve had the privilege to work alongside.

So now comes the question everyone asks:

“What’s next?”

The honest answer is… I’m not entirely sure.

I’ve worked since I was 15 years old. Working has always been part of who I am. And I don’t see myself sitting still for long.

Maybe I’ll do something fun.

Maybe I’ll do something completely different.

Maybe I’ll discover a passion I never had time to pursue.

Who knows?

What I do know is this: my story has already been written by a faithful God.

The next chapter isn’t something I have to figure out on my own. It’s not something I need to force or control.

God has led me every step of the way so far, and I trust He will continue to do so.

He will show me where to invest my time.

He will reveal what deserves my focus.

He will open the right doors and close the wrong ones.

For the first time in a very long time, I don’t have a detailed plan. And surprisingly, I’m okay with that.

Because it’s all in His hands.

The future is unwritten in my eyes, but not in His.

So today, I say thank you to Wells Fargo, thank you to the many people who have been part of this incredible journey, and thank you to God for His faithfulness through it all.

As for what’s next?
