Fresh Homemade Salsa
If you’ve been around here for a while, you KNOW we love to make our own versus buying and Salsa is no exception. We have made this several times – doctoring up with jalapenos each time. We like it to have a ‘bite’.

Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb. Roma tomatoes, halved or quartered
- 1 12 oz. can – petite diced tomatoes – with juice
- 1/2 cup white onion, chopped
- 1 jalapeno pepper, roughly chopped, seeded (do as you wish for the flavor and ‘bite’ you prefer)
- 1/3 cup fresh cilantro
- 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
- 1 T lime juice – best fresh
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp salt – adjust to your liking
Instructions
- Place all ingredients into a food processor or high speed blnder. We use the Ninja food processor.
- Pulse in 2 second bursts until all ingredients are chopped and combined – don’t over blend
- Leave salsa covered and refrigerated for at least a couple hours before you are ready to serve. This allows the flavors to blend together.
Notes
Once you make this once, you will find your own method to the flavor. We often increase or decrease ingredients.

Thanks for stopping by – until next time, may your days be grace filled, your kitchen warm and your heart rooted right where you are. 🩶
