Easy Teriyaki Sauce

Recipe by Bev Crockett

  • Total Time0 hours
  • Yield2 1/2 cups 1x

I love being able to make my own sauces and this one is super easy.   Most ingredients we have in our cabinet so no added expense. Definitely loved by my family.  Can be served over and with Salmon, Chicken or even Pork.

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup soy sauce (can use low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced (I use the big jar of gralic from Sam’s or Costco)
  • 2 T honey
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 6 T mirin
  • 1/2 cup of water mixed with 6 tsps cornstarch

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in  small saucepan.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat and simmer for about 4 minutes.  Remove from heat and let cool.

This makes about 2 1/2 cups and can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week.

Notes

You can decrease the ingredients by half for a smaller portion.
