Slow Cooker Chili

Recipe by Bev Crockett

A Fall & Winter favorite for our home!

Chili

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 lb. ground hamburger
  • 3 packets McCormick’s Chili seasoning
  • 1 lg. Vidalia onion – diced
  • 1 lg. green pepper – diced
  • 1 – 2 jalapenos – diced
  • 1 can Bush’s chili beans
  • 1 can light kidney beans
  • 1 can dark kidney beans (drained)
  • 2 10 oz. cans of Rotel
  • 1/2 can corn
  • 1 can Hunts diced tomatos – onions and peppers flavor if you can find

Instructions

  1. Place turkey and hamburger in sprayed slow cooker
  2. Brown but do not drain
  3. Add onion, pepper and jalapeno
  4. Add seasoning packets
  5. Stir everything together
  6. Add all other ingredients – only draining the dark kidney beans
  7. Cook on low for 4 – 5 hours

Notes

I do not add water as called for on the packets.

I use the remaining 1/2 can of corn and add to Famous Dave’s cornbread mix.

Serve with your favorite toppings – sour cream, avocado, cheese, green onions
