I was searching for something ‘chocolate’ when I was on point to bring dessert for our dinner with friends. This one popped up as a suggestion from Life In The Lofthouse and it didn’t disappoint! Light, fluffy and all the chocolate!
1 pkg Oreos – I did not get the double stuffed….too sweet for me
1/2 cup butter melted – I used salted
2 boxes (3.9 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix
3 1/4 cups cold milk – I used fresh creamery milk 😍
2 containers (8 oz each) Cool Whip, thawed
1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
Place the package of Oreos in a zip-lock bag (make sure sealed, lol)
Using a rolling pin, crush the cookies until they are small chunks/crumbs.
Set aside 1/3 of the cookie crumbs for the topping.
Pour remaining cookie crumbs into a small bowl and add the melted butter.
Mix well then pour into a 9 x 13 pan.
Press the mixture to form a shell/crust
In a bowl, whisk together the 2 pudding mixes and milk.
Cover and place in the fridge to set.
In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese until smooth.
Slowly add in the powdered sugar.
Fold in one container of the Cool Whip.
Spread this mixture over the cookie crust.
Take the chocolate pudding out of the fridge and spread over the cream cheese mixture.
Next spread the other container of Cool Whip over the chocolate pudding layer.
Sprinkle the top with the remaining cookie crumbs.
Cover and chill about 2 hours before serving.
Enjoy!
Notes
Note – I do plan to make some changes the next time to reduce the sweetness. I will use Dark Chocolate Dove’s pudding and cut the confectioner’s sugar in about half. It’s totally personal preference.
Thanks for stopping by – until next time, may your days be grace filled, your kitchen warm and your heart rooted right where you are. 🩶
