Easy Sausage Gravy

Recipe by BevCrockett

Whether you enjoy ‘breakfast for dinner’ or are a true ‘breakfast for breakfast’ friend, here’s a quick and easy recipe that turns out great every time.

Sausage Gravy

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb loose sausage – Our butcher has sage, maple, onion & garlic and sweet or hot Italian all the time.
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • garlic optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage of your choice until done.
  2. Drain the sausage and sprinkle the flour over the sausage.
  3. Mix well until the sausage is coated.
  4. Add the milk gradually, yet all at once.  (I know, confusing 🫤)
  5. Stir constantly on medium heat until gravy thickens.
  6. Serve with Pillsbury (frozen biscuits are my fav), toast, hash browns or whatever you choose.

Notes

Note – if your gravy is too runny, you can mix a paste of cornstarch and butter.  Just a little at a time until your desired thickness.

Thanks for stopping by – until next time, may your days be grace filled, your kitchen warm and your heart rooted right where you are. 🩶
