Sticky Honey Garlic Meatballs

Recipe by BevCrockett

These meat balls are oven and stove top vs. crockpot.  Yummy and always a great ‘go to’ for my family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale

Meatball ingredients –

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 T green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Rice vinegar
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 T honey
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 2 T water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°
  2. In large mixing bowl, combine beef with bread crumbs, onion,  egg, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper – I use food safe gloves for consistency and full mixing
  3. Mix well to form into uniform 1 1/2 ” balls – I use the smallest scoop.
  4. Place on baking sheet(s) lined with parchment paper.  I also spray the paper.
  5. Bake 15 minutes or until fully cooked.
  6. While meatballs are cooking, prepare the sauce.
  7. In medium mixing bowl, add vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, garlic, cornstarch and water.
  8. Whisk until combined
  9. In large sauce pan, stir in the sauce mix and heat for 3 – 4 minutes.
  10. Add meatballs to sauce and toss until fully coated.
  11. Serve with steamed rice.
  12. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
