Maryland Crab Cakes

Recipe by Bev Crockett

This is a recipe I grabbed from Facebook when one of my friends asked for a good recipe.  We have used this many, many times and it is always a hit.  I hope you enjoy, too.

Maryland Crab Cakes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. Jumbo Lump Crabmeat – we use fresh from the Eastern shore or purchase North Carolina, Captail Neil’s from Costco
  • 5 Club crackers
  • 5 Saltine crackers
  • 1 egg
  • 2 T mayo
  • 1 T Dijon mustard
  • 1 T yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Old Bay to taste

Instructions

  1. Beat the egg and add mayo, mustards and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Mash the 10 crackers with a rolling pin
  3. Add Old Bay
  4. Add the crackers to the egg mixture
  5. Fold in the crab meat
  6. Pat into 5 – 6 crab cakes
  7. Place the crab cakes on parchment or wax paper and cover
  8. Refrigerate for at least an hour
  9. Sprinkle with Old Bay
  10. Broil in the oven until golden brown.

Note – do not substitute the crackers for any other kind.  I truly think this makes the recipe.

Thanks for stopping by – until next time, may your days be grace filled, your kitchen warm and your heart rooted right where you are. 🩶
